That’s right, our first piece of new media in months is here hot off the Rockstar Newswire.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is scheduled for release 26th October 2018 on Xbox One and Playstation 4 systems.
Check back later for our full run down of the new trailer once we’ve picked through it frame by frame.
So the rumor mill was in full speculation mode lately after a group of filmmakers were seen shooting a live action advertisement for a video game property. The producer wouldn’t divulge the name of the title, but they did allude to it being part of an existing franchise. We all jumped to assumption that Rockstar Games was preparing their marketing campaign for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Now it seems like that was all a bit premature, as the live action advertisement appears to be linked to the Far Cry franchise.
There is still no confirmation on if the next Far Cry instalment will take place in the wild west, only that it could take place in Montana. But it isn’t unheard of for competing games developers to capitalise on the hype and success of their competitors upcoming titles.
With the success of The Magnificent Seven remake, Westworld Season 1 and Red Dead Redemption later this year, the western genre is coming back hard. It’s only a matter of time until we begin to see more video game titles using the old west as their setting.
