Did Easy Allies just leak the release date to Red Dead Redemption 2 earlier today? This is what the community is asking themselves this afternoon. In an impressions video feature about Destiny 2 Brandon Jones of Easy Allies was quoted saying “this comes out the week before Red Dead”.
Destiny 2 releases on September 8th, and if Red Dead Redemption 2 was to release the following week, using the Rockstar Games past release schedule falling on a Tuesday, we could be looking at a September 12th release.
Let’s take a step back for a moment. Brandon Jones has since taken to twitter to clear somethings up. He claims he based the date on the “Fall” release window announced in the first trailer. While this is an easy enough mistake to be made, and we can’t blame him for that. We do also know he attended the E3 Judges week this year so could have easily already seen the proposed release date.
Somehow my brain put RDR in mid-September. Totally made that up, it seems. This is not based on anything Judge-related. Just a guess.

It’s difficult right now to pin this down as anything other than a rumour. Perhaps in three weeks time at E3 we’ll know the release date for sure. Then we can look back on this knowing Brandon Jones leaked the release date. But for now all we can do is take this with a grain of salt, and hope it’s true.
The Take-Two Interactive Software earnings call is Tuesday 23rd May. So in a matter of days we could potentially know if Red Dead Redemption 2 will be honouring it’s Fall release date. Or if we’re destined to wait a little longer before we get to grab the reins and ride off into the sunset.
What are you’re thoughts on this potential leak? Are you hopeful for a September release date, or are you certain we’re headed for a delay. Let us know in the comments.
